Inclusive Green Education partnership development @ Campus Woudhuis
The KIEM project in which van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences is developing a collaboration with Campus Woudhuis, started with a series of practical and graduation assignments.
This one-year project explores the possibilities of a structural partnership between the Campus Woudhuis and the green education of Van Hall Larenstein aimed at the development of inclusive green education and research and the sustainable inclusive development of Campus Woudhuis.
Campus Woudhuis is a living lab that was formally initiated in 2018 with the aim of offering people at a distance from the labor market a three-year work-learning trajectory to grow towards a decent job and a place in society. With the establishment of the campus, a knowledge agenda has also been presented to give substance to the living lab concept. This agenda has two main themes, namely:
* Connection of parallel and regular labor market
* Transition to more sustainable forms of land use, agro-ecological agriculture and interaction with nature.
Given the unique location of the campus on the Woudhuizen Estate, but also the specific challenges facing estates in general, the campus is looking for structural collaboration with green education to jointly shape the sustainable development of both campus and estate.
Green education, in turn, can use this collaboration to give further direction to practice-oriented and up-to-date education. Knowledge and expertise already acquired in living labs is taken along and used, but green education is simultaneously challenged to develop new knowledge and expertise with regard to sustainable and inclusive estate management.
The preconditions for structural collaboration are explored and designed through participatory research by lecturers and students in collaboration with the partners within the campus.
